How totals are calculated

Every figure comes from the item's published nutrition row in our datasets — the same data behind the nutrition hub and each item page. Add an item from its page and it arrives here pre-loaded. McDonald's items show a sampled price range instead of a single price, Burger King items show one restaurant's official price or a sampled range, and the running price total counts Taco Bell items only — browse the McDonald's menu or the Burger King menu for the full price tables.

Want a guided build instead? The meal builder walks you through a plate by category, rates it Light, Balanced or Heavy, and shares it with one link — same dataset, same totals.

Frequently asked questions

How does the nutrition calculator work?

Pick any items from the Taco Bell, McDonald's, KFC or Burger King menu — the calculator totals the price, calories, fat, sodium, carbs and protein from the same datasets that power this site, and lists every allergen present in your meal.

Are the totals exact?

Totals are sums of the published per-item values. Items whose published value is a threshold (for example “<5 mg”) are counted at that threshold, and restaurant preparation can vary.

Does the calculator include prices?

Yes — unlike most nutrition calculators, this one totals sampled menu prices alongside nutrition. Prices vary by location. McDonald's and KFC items show a sampled price range instead of a single price, Burger King items show either one restaurant's official price or a sampled range, and the running price total counts Taco Bell items only.
