Illustrative stock photo — not a Taco Bell product photograph.
Taco Bell's Cinnamon Sugar Churros are a pack of three mini churros with a cream-cheese filling the ingredients list calls horchata-flavoured — cinnamon sugar outside, tangy sweet filling inside, served warm. The Impulsive Buy, reviewing them in June 2026, rated them 8 out of 10 and called them flat-out tastier than the chain's Cinnamon Twists. This is our own reconstruction — a standard choux-based mini churro with a cinnamon-vanilla cream-cheese filling in the horchata style — not Taco Bell's recipe, which the chain does not publish.
The original — the benchmark
The restaurant's Cinnamon Sugar Churros are 190 calories for the pack of three, with 9g fat, 190mg sodium, 25g carbohydrates and 1g protein (Impulsive Buy panel, June 2026), at $2.49 in that review — prices vary by location — as part of the Luxe Value Menu. We do not publish a summed homemade total. The ingredients vary by brand and portion, so any figure we printed would be an estimate. Cook against the original's panel: three mini churros, crisp outside, cream-cheese filling inside.
Ingredients
- Choux dough: 240ml water, 2 tablespoons butter, 1 tablespoon sugar, a pinch of salt, 125g plain flour, 1 egg
- Vegetable oil, for deep-frying
- Cinnamon sugar: 60g granulated sugar + 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- Horchata-style filling: 115g cream cheese (softened), 2 tablespoons powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1 tablespoon milk
Method
- Make the dough. Bring the water, butter, sugar and salt to a boil, take off the heat, stir in the flour until a smooth ball forms, then cool for 5 minutes and beat in the egg until glossy.
- Make the filling. Beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, cinnamon, vanilla and milk until smooth, then spoon into a piping bag fitted with a small nozzle.
- Pipe and fry. Pipe 7–8cm lengths of dough into oil heated to 175°C and fry in batches until golden and crisp, about 2–3 minutes. Drain on paper.
- Roll and fill. While still warm, roll the churros in the cinnamon sugar until evenly coated. Pipe the filling into each churro from one end.
- Serve. Serve warm — they are at their best within the hour, while the outside is still crisp.
Serving size & prep time
Makes about 12 mini churros — 4 servings of 3, matching the restaurant's pack size. Prep about 15 minutes; cooking about 20 minutes.
Nutrition — the honest version
As above: the restaurant's pack of three is 190 calories. A home build with the same structure — fried choux, cinnamon sugar, cream-cheese filling — lands in the same ballpark, and the filling quantity is the number that moves it most. The copycat recipes hub has the Cinnamon Twists recipe for the other half of the dessert menu.
About this guide's data
Every figure in this guide comes from one dataset: sampled Taco Bell prices and published nutrition, compiled and verified in October 2026 (prices are re-checked monthly, and every data page carries its verification stamp). Rankings state their rule in the open and are computed from those rows — never voted on, never estimated. Where a value is missing it is shown as missing, and each named item links to its own page, where the full label, allergen record and sampled price range can be checked. Prices vary by location; nutrition values are the published figures for the standard build.
Frequently asked questions
How many calories are in homemade Cinnamon Churros?
We don't publish a summed homemade total — the ingredients vary by brand and portion. The restaurant's pack of three is 190 calories, and a home build with the same structure lands in the same ballpark.
What is the filling in Taco Bell's churros?
A cream-cheese filling the ingredients list describes as horchata-flavoured — cinnamon and vanilla give the home version the same profile.
How are these different from Cinnamon Twists?
Twists are puffed wheat pellets rolled in cinnamon sugar; churros are fried choux pastry with a cream-cheese filling. The Impulsive Buy rated the churros tastier than the Twists.
Is this the exact Taco Bell recipe?
No — this is an inspired copycat and a reconstruction. Taco Bell does not publish its recipes; this version recreates the build (mini churros, cinnamon sugar, cream-cheese filling) at home.
